United Way Venture Grant
Awarded for Financial Literacy Coalition
United Way of Southwest Minnesota recently presented a $6,200
venture grant
to underwrite development of a plan to increase community
awareness of
financial literacy resources and to assist community members in
accessing
the resource as well as in building positive financial
relationships with
local financial institutions. The financial literacy coalition
is made up
of people representing area banks, employers and community-based
service
organizations who work with people who seek to increase their
knowledge and
skills relating to managing their personal and family finances.
United Way is an independent local organization working to
improve lives by
mobilizing the caring power of communities in Lincoln, Lyon,
Murray, Yellow
Medicine and Redwood Counties of Minnesota.
